Lectures

Lectures

The Society arranges an annual  programme of nine lectures on arts-related subjects, each delivered by a professional lecturer who is a subject specialist.

The programme as a whole aims to cover a wide range of fine and decorative art subjects, historical periods, artists and materials.

Lectures are given on the third Wednesday of the month from September to June, excepting December. Each one lasts about one hour.

Lectures for ‘Morning’ members start at 11am, and ‘Afternoon’ members at 2pm. Doors open 45 minutes beforehand, and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are served. This is an excellent opportunity to meet friends and other Members.

Members’ guests and visitors are always welcome, providing that sufficient space is still available in the lecture room. To avoid disappointment, please give prior notice to the Membership Secretary if you wish to bring a visitor. A donation is normally requested and we suggest £10.

After attending a lecture, we would welcome your feedback; this helps us to plan future programmes and maintain a high standard. Please contact any Committee member or simply use the Lecture Review Form link.
